Belleayre

Scouts can ski Saturday March 3.

Scouts and their families and friends can ski for a Scout Day Rate of $22.00 all day with any level lesson included. Rentals are available for an additional $15.00 per person.

Belleayre Mountain is about a 2 hour drive from here in the Catskills near Giant Ledge.
 

Butternut

Scout Days Saturdays on 12/16, 1/6, 2/10 (details below), and 3/10.

Butternut is about an 1.75 hours up the Taconic, 15 minutes past Catamount.

Not going to Shawnee with the troop next weekend, but still would like to ski?

Butternut Basin, just east of Great Barrington  Massachusetts, is having reduced rates for Scout Ski Day on Feb 10.  Lifts open at 8:15 and run until 4:00.  Non-scouts are welcome, too.

Scouts can earn their Winter Sports merit badge.  At 1pm information on the badge will be provided and beginning at 2:15 scouts can work with merit badge counselors to earn their badge.  Takes about an hour and a half.  No cost.

I need to send them reservations and rental info so if you’re interested in going please call me or email ASAP.  If you want rentals I need the following info:  name, age, height, weight, shoe size and skiing ability-beginner, intermediate, expert.

There are sometimes long lines when picking up rental equipment at the mountain, so you may want to check with someplace like The Sports Barn on Rte 202 in Yorktown for rentals that you could pick up on Friday.

Directions:  Taconic Parkway north to Route 23 in Columbia County  (about 5 miles past Lake Tagkanic State Park).  East on Route 23 through Hillsdale, South Egremont and Great Barrington.  It’s about an hour and a half drive.

Catamount

CATAMOUNT
SUNDAY, MARCH 4, 2001

Scout Ski Days at Catamount in Hillsdale, NY on Sunday, March 4 (They also have it on Saturday, March 3).  Catamount is about an hour and a half drive up the Taconic on Rte 23 in Hillsdale, NY.

Scouts can work on their merit badge for Snow Sports.  They will have merit badge counselors.  Fun races for those interested at 2PM.   Age 6 and under ski free.  Free beginner lesson at 9:30.

Lift Tickets             $17
Equipment Rentals: $16  (includes skis, boots, and poles).
Snowboards and boots are $17 and they don’t have too many.

For Scout Day at Catamount, all you need to do is present your Scout ID card at the ticket booth to get the Scout rate.  If you need rental equipment you might want to check with the Sports Barn in Yorktown, or you can call Catamount at 519-325-3200  to see if they still have equipment available.

Pizza party at 4 PM is $4 per person extra.
